I might have a wander over. Let me know Mark for certain what day you are going, and if anyone else near me is thinking about it, we could share transport?

Good
I'll have a think about which day, in the next week . I could do it either day. I notice opening hours are something like 11 till 6 on Sat and 10 till 4 on Sun.
I owe you a couple of caps ( from my phono ) .
Anything else ?

Well, I just got back from a enjoyable day at the show. Good to meet up with Mark again. Much lower number of rooms at the show this year, no Naim this time, generally run of the mill sounds, the Macintosh room deserved a mention I thought, better than expected. But the Audio Note room was head and shoulders above anything else (IMHO, might be biased given I like paper coned speakers and SET amps). But it was a better sound than previous years, bigger room may have had something to do with it. They had their DAC 2 in use, I was impressed, very nice. I wont be buying one of course :-)

It was a excuse to buy some more vinyl though.

I was talking to the guy from Stamford Audio again near the end.
Apparently the organisers promoted it as an AV show initially, so lots of the HiFi exhibitors didn't bother to turn up. It was a bit late when they changed their minds about what the event was supposed to be .

Just going through the LPs now . The Stravinsky side 2 ( Song of the Nightingale ) is on there now, very spacious and analogue .

Audio Note system was indeed top-notch .

Naim room with #25000 Linn speaks ( must get the pound sign sorted eventually ) was dreadful .

Any snow on the way home ?- I was driving in some to begin with .

The Judee Sill reissue ( Heart Food ) is superb, filling the room with tone, ambience and dynamics.

Thumbs up for '4 men with Beard' productions on this basis then .

Just a bit. Bit of the ol' "travelling sideways" if he's not careful as well.
