Time to dust off your copy of Take Five.

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Sad news but 91 and a legacy like that I reckon he did OK.

Oh that's a shame .
What a great musician and a really decent bloke as well.
I did enjoy seeing the documentary about him on BBC4 a while back, I have that one saved in the 'archive' .

I shall have to bring out one or other of his albums later this evening .

I'm just listening to Time Out as expected .
I always thought it was well recorded, but listening to it now with some recent tweaks ( Bud's transformers, the fancy TQ wires ) I'm struck even more by how fabulous this recording is, and particularly how great Joe Morello's precussion sounds. There's so much tone and detail in everything . The drum brushing, the bounce & tone in the drum skins, just so brilliantly energetic and real .
The whole record is a joy though . What a great band Dave put together there .
