Well according to my list, in the shed should be:

SE OPT 5k : 4 - 8 - 16 Ohms, 5W (VT1087)

Also should have 1 x 250 - 0 - 250V 50mA mains, with 1A 6.3V heater, bit low powered but should be enough for a low power o/p valve like EL84/6V6 and a single ECC83

Will have a rummage later

Hi Mike,

I already have a suitable mains transformer: 270-0-270, 6.3v heater (rated for a few amps), and 5v rectifier heater. The high voltage winding doesn't seem to be up to much, but should stand a single 6V6.

I'm interested in the output transformer though - if you manage to find it, could you bring it to Owston?

Looks like 5k is perfect for the 6v6, too. According to the datasheet, I could get up to 5w out!

Phwoar.

Cheers
Chris

Don't forget to cross it off your stock list. :)

Fantastic.

How may I repay you?

If I get my act together, I can have most of the circuit assembled, ready for the transformer to drop in when I return from Owston.

Exciting!

Pretty sure it was a prototype sample so didn't cost me anything. Either you have it or it stays in the shed :D

BTW the other one of these (there was a pair) is what's in the AM wireless since day 1, that's now using a 6V6-GT and it sounds fab

Previously it was a 6L6 which was a bit muddy and horrible TBH, I retired it when it went all brown inside the glass
