Not far off 100 so I should hope so!

f-3=R/(2.PI.L)

So 2k for d3a, 80H for L

-3 db point = 2000/(2*3.14*80)

= 4Hz

Should be fine.

Mike has been kind enough to do a Spice simulation. There are a couple of "tweeks" added for simplicity (to match my simpliciousness ).

Next thing on the to do list after Aurora copy.(300b interstage).

I hope you appreciate that R6 is present to increase the DCR of the choke(s). There are no untoward consequences as far as I can tell. :D

Funnily enough, (and this is true folks !) I did a few "back of fag packet" calculations before I messaged you and came up with 2.7K as well.

Does that mean I'm clever ?

Wow you did calculations, I just guessed.

No really I did

No really I did

Target R = 4K

Actual R = 1.1K

4 - 1.1 = 2.9K

Nearest standard value = 2.7K (or actually 3K  )

Simples.

My bwain 'urts ....

Sorry Im 13 years late to this party, but inductors have to be on the same core to take advantage of the cubic calculation, two inductors on different cores follow simple addition for inductance and for dcr, purely linear.

The lack of “nodes” in the crossed lines has sent Phil’s thoughts wild as Mike said.

Sorry but there were so many flaws in the understanding sparked by bad symbols. I thought ( thinks?…’what is 320mH about?)

Amp would work well if someone who knows how to realise through the drawing errors, and its effectively no improvement to using the hammond interstage transformer for coupling so I wouldnt build it.

Oh, and the Monkey topology requires more b+. Glad he used choke input near enough.
