OK so 1619 class A gives out 1 WATT 7.6% 2nd h class A2 was it 5 watt at 5% 2nd h now Ive calculated the 3rd 19.5%. No amount of added 2nd will hide that.

So the class A2 1619 is a scrapped project.

Enjoying the EL 34 class A

I’ll build a GM70 single monoblock next. Again, might not make it A2, probably sufficient power in A1 and no A2 3rd to hide. I have a mono Sachmo original recordings Satchmo CD to audition it with.

Yep, anywhere from 600v-1200v and a GM70 in A1 is just a "simple" way of getting a bit more Set power. Once you get over the heater requirement its a nice more powerful cross of a 211 and a 845. I think a 7k load works well with it, but its generally ok with anything from 5k to 12k.

Yes it is so, and no point fighting class A2 using the right valves keep in A1 Ive moved back to the GM70 everyones projects calc’d the distortions into 10k I think the Tributes are set at 10k. And distortion is no longer a tale of woe unless Ive calculated it wrong. I’ll double check that and repost the picture if so. Anyway Im so enjoying the EL34 that there is no chance the 1619 would help, its a dead duck.
