Well, to ignore the rantings for a moment, and to consider the sustainable benefit of not scrapping cars. To try and add more to Andrews questions (by just doing a few searches that he could have just done himself).

So they are, (for their own commercial profit I am sure), putting money into both keeping older cars on the road and developing zero carbon solutions for using those cars. But lets ignore that and focus on the fact they don't knock out cars that are scrapped after 10 years and so because of that they retain a value above that of a £500 rust box death trap.

We were supposed to be getting car charging points in our flats, but been told that the buildings insurance company won't let us
I have been told that hybrids are OK as it's only the charging that they are worried about
All sounds a bit suspect to me, but academic as I can't afford a new car just now. Would have been nice to have the option in the future though

Well, I've had my "company" (leased) EV for about 4 weeks now and I can say without a doubt I am very pleased. The driving experience is just so different to an ICE. I'd never driven an EV before so didn't know what to expect but once I'd turned off the "one pedal driving" (a step too far for me, that!) it just turned into an incredibly fun car to drive. What I find really great is the instant control of the traction and the accuracy of controlling speed, it just makes merging and overtaking effortless. And the torque! Wow.

It _is_ heavy but being rear-wheel drive and the weight being low it corners far better than I was expecting.

Now let's just hope it doesn't burst into flames!

Congrats Tony!

Tony was telling me (at Owston hotel) he wasn't buying it, and most likely wouldn't if he could, and it's 'all' that his company will offer as a new company car (must be EV), but, will be interesting to find out what it's like. Even nicer if you're not paying for it.

Had a ride in a Zoe once, I might have mentioned before, that was quite exciting!
