The Tempest is well regarded on the Facebook users group and seems to be a popular choice lately. :thumbleft:

There may be one or two 'little mods' you have to do to make it more reliable and 'user friendly', but that's not at all unusual, I haven't had a new bike yet that didn't need some kind of 'tweaking' and the owner's forums etc. can very useful for making one aware of such things. For the Chinese AJays it mostly boils down to rust prevention and keeping wet weather out of the electrics. And there's the odd nut or bolt that can drop off and go AWOL. The answer there is A. make sure it's done up properly to start with, B. nyloc nuts or Loctite.

Yes it's an automatic cam chain tensioner, there's a spring inside. :D

While the weather was cooler this morning I took a ride out to the North Yorkshire Moors.
Very nice it was too!

Its been lovely riding weather hasn't it.

Yesterday I did 148 miles around Kent with 29 other Royal Enfield Owners, it was our local branch summer ride out and camping weekend, a good time.

My lovely 1960 Bullet did great...

And then today with more lovely weather, I took 'Janet' the Maxi out for a 40+ mile round trip via Wateringbury Marina, good coffee stop, and a handy crane to lift the mighty Maxi onto the centrestand :)

Good to see that you're out and about Mr. B, does it mean the muscular problems are receding?

Looks like very nice examples of Mk1 and Mk2 Interceptors.

Yep, well spotted Greg, the shiny chrome tanked is 1A version apparently. It smoked heavily on the rhd cylinder to start with but made it to the end of the run!

My Bullet was the oldest bike on the run, a good 75% of the bikes were modern Meteors, Connies, Interceptors, Classics and Himalayans. RE appear to be doing very well again.

Balthazar and I went to the Somerset Bike Night in Langport. Lovely evening - good mates and excellent cider. Been super weather.

Tried to send photo but the system complained that the file was too large; I've no idea how to make it smaller.

That'll be Eli's at Huish Episcopi then - famous, amongst other things, for being a pub without a bar!

I've called in with some of my cycling mates.

Well Ray, the neighbours in Huish Episcopi started to complain about the racket made by ridiculous Hardly Ablesons, so we have moved on from Eli's to the Bere Cider Co in Aller. Out in the sticks, so no neighbours to annoy. Still a good evening out.

This came up as a local sale on FB, I rather like the styling - have no idea about the bike though.

Looks like a 250cc Norton Jubilee, although there was also a 350cc version, the Norton Navigator, and a 400cc electric start version.

The 250cc version in the picture had mainly Francis Barnet cycle parts.
