#1 vax vacuum T slot

Post by ed »

we've just bought our second vax bagless vacuum.
Does anybody know what the T slot on the vacuum body is for?

Is it a conversation piece?

Mrs Yetigoosecreature - "Have you seen my new Vax?"
Miss A. Elk - "That's nice dear, what's the T slot for?"
Mrs Yetigoosecreature - "Dunno dear, it's not mentioned in the instructions."
Both - "Hmmmmmm"

The T-slot is the mate of a T-connector thingy on the floor nozzle. When the connector is in the slot, the hose/tube stands vertically.

thanks rowuk.

I now see the reason but not the point. I tried and it fits, as per the drawing, but I wouldn't use it as it appears very fragile with a huge moment arm. Whats wrong with leaning the tube against the wall next to the vacuum......just saying

Nothing I guess if you happen to have a wall next to the vacuum. Just saying :-)

let's take a vote....which fules store their vacuums in the middle of the room....snigger

actually I should have pursued the info on which other makes have the slot...I had an exploding dyson before the first vax but I don't recall if it had the slot.

Well, as it happens, we keep our Henry next to the wall, and just leaning the hose against the wall means that it keeps sliding of the wall and falling over that I have had to fit a hook on the wall. So having a t slot would be a win for me even though there is a convenient wall.

I checked on those that we own: Siemens, Philips, Kaercher all have the T-Technology. 2 of them are over 20 years old and we have never had a t or slot break.
