#1 FS: Very cool heatsinks

Post by iansr »

I have some very large heatsinks for sale - see photo. They measure approx 30 x 30cm and the longest fins are 7cm long. I do not have a dissipation rating for them but you would have to be building a truly monstrous class A amp for these to be inadequate!
They also look really cool 8) because of the curved profile of the fins. Price is £45 for one or £80 for two plus carriage. I have several pairs for sale.

I forgot to mention that they weigh 5.5kgs each. I’ve now annotated the pic to show actual dimensions:

And it looks easily cut down even allowing for aluminium sticking to blades..

So people don’t have to have a project so big and still could benefit from the deal.

Not for me though at the minute, if I get spending money I’d use one for a fairly powerful MOFO and bi-amp my bass units.

Well you might have one left when I get money.

One would make a very pretty MOFO in a project box mounted on top!

Ian, you might be asking a little over the odds? I got five of them from this ebay seller, made an offer and paid about £25-30 each, delivered - he regularly sells them so I guess the invertors they come from may not be that relaible.

Paul, You'll need some good heatsinking for a MoFo build.

I'm using a pair of these for my ZenMod SissySIT project and they work well and look good;

I also have another pair in another amp that is similar to MoFo but uses Tokin SITs instead of MosFETs and another one, that has been cut in half, will be used in a Nelson Pass ACA.

They drill and tap well. One problem I found when I tried to get a pair anodised black was that the alloy they're made from won't take an anodising dye so natural finish was the only option.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!
