best cd player i have ever used is the technics profesional one from the 90's i think..top loading machine..real good smooth machine..most cd players are junk imho..
marantz are utter cack..

My Cambridge CXC CD transport is playing up at the moment, so as a temporary solution, I've dug out the mighty Denon DVD-3910 which was the subject of this thread.

The presentation is subtly different from the CXC, not better or worse, using the Caiman SEG DAC, Audionote copy pre-amp and mosfet follower amps.

Anyway, music has been restored, which is good. :D

Off for a week tomorrow, looking forward to a change.

It was called "the old exchange", and was built on the site of (surprisingly enough) the old telephone exchange at the end of Back Lane, where Moorland Close starts.

The new telephone exchange is next door.
