Probably the first one.
I do like his rendition of 'Goin Back' on OGWT.
Rare to find a guy with his combined piano, guitar and vocal talents .
Is he under-rated ? - I think so.

Acoustic Live on vinyl is smashing!

I shall make a note of that, thanks Dave.
To my discredit I forgot to look in the 'L' rack when I was at the shop in Keswick about four weeks ago.
I really want the first ( 'fat man' ) album and the one with his version of 'Going Back' , for starters.

I tried him and his band and could not get along with the music.

Nick introduced me to the acoustic live album while he fixed my amp a few years back, which I really enjoyed.

I think its my favourite live album now. 8)

As an update a friend asked me to listen to Nils Album "The Loner, Nils sings Neil" again I found this to be an excellent record Nils with an acoustic singing some of Neil Youngs fabulous compositions. Gets 5 stars from me.

This album is just great. First play last night. I had my eye on it for EBay but found a copy with a nice disc in the shop in Keswick.
Great ensemble playing, Nils' exemplary guitar and piano work, and his vocals I really like - very 'un-rock', a nice antidote to eg. Robert Plant !
