Thanks Mark.

I've been using the FE167E for a while now. They had been discontinued but I managed to get a used pair.

I was using a Fostex FE127E before, and they did not seem to be lacking HF.

I have learned over the years to listen very closely to Nick's boring suggestions.... ;)

Well yes.....I measured my mets and was able to remove the midrange peak I found, by using the black tack mod to the FF225WK.
Measurement can point you towards problem areas. What you do about what you identify, is of course up to you.

Was that with the £30 microphone you got from Amazon (?) Steve? I wondered how you got on with it and whether it was worth getting one?

Yes it is a good microphone and worth buying.
I'm currently designing a new generation of Metronomes including a folded one that will take bigger drivers, so the mic will be getting used quite a lot in the near future.
The ones you saw at our Ant's yesterday are part of that new speaker family.

I am very tempted by that, but I am not sure, because I find that if I listen to a sweep I am finding out what is linear for my hearing. That may be a more useful standard of measure. It's n-t like I have to produce honest facts to go with a new product I'm selling. I have to make a speaker I enjoy listening to.

So I'll hold my finger off the add to basket button until someone convinces me otherwise.

Thanks Steve, I'm very tempted. It looks simple enough for a numpty like me to use. And not too much to lose...
