#1 iPlayer modifications in LMS

Post by The Stratmangler »

As Squeezebox users may well be aware the BBC decided to rationalise (pronounced fuck up) their live stream feeds for internet radio services.

The fix slipped past me when it was announced, but I spotted it tonight, tried it, and it all seems to be playing ball.
The fix is here http://forums.slimdevices.com/showth...l=1#post813964

Seems OK now.

Question. With my Touch it's completely standard, so do I need this "update" ?

Are you using the device as a standalone unit?
If you are then you don't need it.

If you're using another device to run server, such as Vortexbox (DtB), Zyxel NSA310 (me) and using Triode's BBC iPlayer plugin then you'd find it useful.

In that case you'll find it useful if you listen to BBC radio stuff over the internet.

Thanks for this Chris, although for some reason its not working on my NSA320S, think a reboot is in order.

On another note I'm playing with a RPi running SqueezePlug, its currently scanning my music share on the NAS.

Think this has great potential as it has more grunt that the NSA320S so can do transcoding on the fly. It also acts like an SB with Squeezelite installed so I can continue to use iPeng. When the IQAudio DAC+ boards come back in stock I'm hoping this will be a better and more compact solution than my current reboxed SBII, Bushmaster MKII and battery setup!

Having a small cube doing it all is quite appealing!

I added the link http://triodeplugins.googlecode.com/svn ... strepo.xml to the additional repositories box and hit apply and LMS returned a reboot request message.
I clicked on the reboot now option and LMS rebooted, and once having done so it had the new BBC iPlayer plugin up and working.

No settings needed to be changed, and the NSA310 copes fine with the transcoding.
