#1 Aikido Question

Post by David »

My Aikido pre runs uncannily silently. Is it just that I have quiet valves-Mullard Gold Pin ECC88s- operating well within their tolerances or does the Aikido topology cancel out valve hiss or the artefacts that cause valve noise?

According to John Broskie and in practice...

The Aikido can reduce valve noise produced by the classical electrical valve noise mechanisims. Not by a lot but enough to be noticeable. This is the third thing the Aikido does...

The first thing the Aikido does is remove psu noise.

The second thing the Aikido does is straighten the transfer curve of the compound stage reducing distortion.
