That's a good point Ed about what is the controller talking to - server or client.

Anyhoo, the only wireless things we have are our phones and therefore the SB remotes. Now once the control signals gets into the network, I have no idea where it goes. Some of it must go to the client to control volume etc

So rather than looking at bluetooth connections to a Pi, it probably is better to look at bluetooth connection to network.

Thanks Stephen, I'll do a bit more digging. I think if I get my phone on a network via bluetooth, it will just see it as a network and give up on the 3G again. Hmm, there has to be a way.
