Re: Nothing In Particular
Generally I just tell people like that to fuck off..... Odd thing is, that when I was working in a call centre i could resolve issues with someone who was extremely angry, annoyed, emotional, or even who was just a dick. Outside work I wont give someone who is simply a prat the time of day, they jus...

I took the case off the JBE psu box to get the measurements as its going to need replacing, so while i was at it i thought id trace the psu' not much to it at all https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4373/36365932034_6a4f85ff74_c.jpg Jbe series 3 power supply by anthony cresswell , on Flickr heres the tra...

Re: jvc ql-y5f restoration
Ive put the at150 on the deck in place of the f7. Was looking for cone flap to see if there was a mismatch between the arm and cart as I thought the arm was abit heavy for the cart. The q damping and other electrickery the arm has can be turned off if set to 0, so I tried it both ways. set up as the...

What would you buy?
Abit of fun. I was having a conversation with a friend today about the best bits of kit we had had, and the conversation turned into a money no object- last one you'd ever buy kind of thing. I decided after much thought (not much thought required tbh) on 2 things. 1. A micro seiki ddx1000 with a dyn...

Re: JBE series 3 restoration. Next on the list....
Ok, so ive gotten stuck into the restoration of the JBE this morning. Firstly, it needed stripping down. Not much to it, as quite frankly there isnt much to it. 3 bolts and 2 machine screws...... https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4347/37012940482_6d2581f06a_c.jpg Jbe series 3 restoration by anthony cre...

Re: JBE series 3 restoration. Next on the list....
Maybe not the motor, id have thought the issue would have been with the motor controller as it is pretty rudimentary. Never heard any wow out of it tbh.

JBE series 3 restoration. Next on the list....
Ok. Next on the list to restore is my much loved JBE series 3 direct drive. I have had this deck since 01/02/10, the reason I know the date is because I received it the same day as son number 2 was born, just after we got back from the hospital with him. Hence I have an emotional attachment to it. I...

Re: jvc ql-y5f restoration
I think these decks are the perfect vinyl revival turntable. Abit geeky to set up, good for the gadget freaks, Sound brilliant for the audiophiles, Technically pretty advanced for the techies, And automatic for the people. You would have to be a complete idiot not to be able to use these decks, and ...

Re: jvc ql-y5f restoration
Dunno how it sounds yet. well I do from having 2 other y5s and y3, but i darent try to put a cart in it tonight. I have eyes like piss holes in snow at the moment so id probably break something and dom very kindly fettled my atf7 recently so id rather not bugger it up quite yet.....
