I set my laptop up with 7.3 and shifted between sources - I have 7.2.1 on my main machine. Each time I changed sources I was prompted to upload firmware. The firmware installed each time was consistent with the Squeezecenter version ie. 7.2.1 had firmware version 113, and 7.3 had firmware version 12...

So, I have firefox up and running and I suppose I can get used to it. Does this mean though at this moment that I don't need virus etc software because this browser just doesn't do all that? Of course I could already have the virus thing that the world is talking about and 7 out of every ten users ...

I have a neighbour who uses the NTL software combo, and he has just had to have his pc hard drive wiped clean and started again - his daughters managed to get the machine infected from using a combination of windows messenger and/or downloading games from the interweb. Firefox is a doddle to install...

Has anyone else tried the latest Squeezecenter release ? I tried it, was wholly unimpressed with the sound quality (the tizz is back), and went back to 7.2.1 I also noted that the music file scan took an absolute age to complete. Yep, its that time again, I was holding back on the snow thi syear though, unless you can't live without it :-) I'd rather see it on here than in real life ! When the schools around here were closed the other week because of the snow my son got up to this..... Eeeh, it's tuff up North ! Chris :lol:

On the registering issue... I didn't feel inclined to give all the credit card and personal details just to get a freeby..and after going through the identity theft thing twice already I'm reluctant to give any web based system my details now.... they are coming you know!!! wow...look behind you :l...

If you go through the process involved then the Linn downloads are worth the effort.

I registered with them sometime earlier on the year, and they have not bombarded me emails (or anything else for that matter).

They have the Sampler available in standard flac format too.

ho hum, so I knew the answer to this, I just forgot I knew. I've just put a 24/96 studio recording on squeezebox and it plays back at half speed. the decay on the cymbals is to die for tho! Ed :lol: Is this down to the version of SlimServer that you're using ? Or the firmware on your Squeezebox. Co...
