Possibly, it depends on exactly what you mean.

What is it you don't know? it wasn't clear from your first post.

Do you know which are the primay and secondary wires?

I would get a 6v tx, and feed the 6v into what you think is the 0-240 tap.

Then measure the AC voltage on all the other windings to make sure it all apears sane.

Just as well you don't have one of those nasty old power PC mac's like most folk would have if it was a long lasting platform...

Actually I used to like the titanium power book I used a couple of years ago.

TS parameters

I was talking to Mo at the weekend about a pair of Coral driver he has that he wants to put in a box. I believe Scott has said to do anything he needs the TS parameters. I have read a couple of articles on getting those values, but do the assembled throng have any advice or suggestions as to what I ...

Just for info, I got the price for Colins 6em7 TX (well, a generic 5k 50ma amorphous TX in fact, so it can be used for 45's as well) OPT is 10W Eur 268,- a pair 50mA 4+8 Ohm 5K amorphous potted There is tax at 19% and shipping to add to that, so it should be about £250 I guess for the pair. Or to co...

Myself, I would place the chokes with regard to what they were carrying. The ones that carry signal and mainly DC I would keep away from chokes and TX's carrying mains and highj ripple. EI chokes should have very low external fields (thats the point of the laminations) so I doubt there will be any p...

The reality is there are more valves than I have time to try them. Now some could say this is depressing, but I say, wouldn't it be even more depressing to know you could actually try them all and then have to stop?

Well put Greg, but don't worry about it, we are all grown up here (some of us feel far too grown up), as I said before, we don't need to pussy-foot it, if someone says something you take exception to, let them know, everyone else can either take sides, wade in, or keep out if it. Fall outs will happ...

Nick, what did you think about its performance?
Unfortunantly, I almost built it.

It should be simple and cheap enough to build though.
