How do the drivers feel?
Mostly with their hands. :)
That explains the rough night!

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.

Seems like a well thought out scheme to me. If the power from the grid goes down, a back-up keeps the cars rolling. Nothing new in that article. The American motoring press is littered with similar articles and others where Musk can do no wrong. Both sides of the Tesla/Musk divide spout loads of bol...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Re-schedule the time table (which they should have done anyway) and buses will run on time.

I do use it enthusiastically on occasion. :-)

"To the river! Bring the ducking apparatus!"..

Aaah, its been a while :)
Burn me instead of the car? :-)
Yes! “To the village square! Bring out the stake!” (Watch for spontaneous combustion…….)

Re: Landrovers...

I may have been misinformed. Back in the day when being authorised to drive Landrovers for work, it was emphasised never to set the handbrake when the vehicle was still moving, even ever so slightly as damage could be caused to the differential. I understood it to be a mechanical lock rather than fr...

Re: Landrovers...

Working out if I can swap the old handbrake for a new style one with the switch as I have a nasty habit of not releasing the handbrake fully before driving off, and a BIG RED LIGHT may well stop me doing this. Might stop the smell of burning too... I thought the Landrover handbrake was a dif-lock. ...

So my bias also applies to other "things" that uses such batteries.
Why?

Re: Nothing In Particular

From BBC News website from a senior fire officer in attendance- Liam Smith, crew commander at Leighton Buzzard fire station, said that when he arrived, the fire was mainly on the third floor. He said there were "lots of electric vehicles potentially involved quite early on", though the fir...

Re: Nothing In Particular

Hamas or .... electric cars - we'll see. IF it was a single car that caused this I'd hate to think how much the insurance claim will be. Could be 1,000 cars, a new car park and compensation for cancelled flights at least. EV naysayers have been predicting a catastrophe on this scale, if indeed that...

Looks like the Chinese are getting things right. Battery swapping is on its way: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/nio/et5 I think more progress needs to be made before it’ll attract battery swapping buyers here. With a max range of 348 per battery charge and an annual bill of £3000 for four bat...

Ah, yes. I could always taste salt. Amanda, who became infected at the same time complained of a constant salt taste in her mouth throughout the illness, eating or otherwise.

Re: General health matters.

I went on a coach trip yesterday, and on the way home my throat felt a little sore. During the evening the throat got worse, as though I had a cold coming, and this morning I got a positive Covid test. BUM. :( That was Tuesday morning. I hadn't lost my sense of smell/taste, but this morning they ha...
