Re: Something Stirs in the Workshop
Thanks Chris, I definitely will be measuring in room next Saturday, to get it better equalised than last Saturday which was a rush, after chasing a problem down of my own making. I have lots of time, frequency sweeps into the early hours won’t annoy the other Wammers to much. :D Was trying to unders...

Re: Something Stirs in the Workshop
After a few of chats on Saturday with Chris, Andrew and others, it got me wondering…. The subs didn’t sound as controlled as I would like, and was wondering if the configuration I have them in is the challenge, as the amplifier damping factor will be down. Currently I am running the two sub drivers ...

Re: Owston ( now darios) what are you bringing
Thanks.. Chris
Just packing stuff up - realised I haven’t got any Speakon to spade cables, for the second speakers. Have you got any Speakon fly leads?
It’s going to be a struggle to fit it all in the car……

Re: Owston ( now darios) what are you bringing
Last night seemed to have channel dropping out on my amp…. Fixed it by turning the amp on and off…. Got a spare module, for some surgery if necessary. Typical…. So many protection circuits on the amps , hard to determine the cause. Will put a multimeter and some other tools in the car.

Re: Road vehicle fires.
I don’t understand why the EV batteries are not encased in fire proof box, as battery fires still need air to burn. The batteries don’t need to breathe as far as I am aware. Lithium-ion battery fires generate their own oxygen and can be very difficult to extinguish FPA - why-do-lithium-ion-batterie...

I am still confused why the pictures of the landrover on fire show it not parked in a parking bay but on the “ road” I don’t understand why the EV batteries are not encased in fire proof box, as battery fires still need air to burn. Re: Road vehicle fires.
I read that with the Luton fire, there weren’t any fire extinguishers on the floor when the fire was first spotted, and by the time someone had got an extinguisher it was too late. Friend of mine who works in fire prevention says that people take fire extinguishers all the time, gawd knows why… scra...

Re: Something Stirs in the Workshop
Successful morning of testing on Saturday with Dave. He thinks they are worthy of the WAM show. Did some further measuring and refinement, the troublesome bit is the LF where i think room modes are dominating. As when i reduce the output by 2db i get 4-6db of reduction in the room, which suggests co...
