Itsnot "other" in any real sense but a lot of us used to post on the world design forum (and many still do, nothing wrong with that). Some of the history can found the the threads about the history of why I started this place. There is no competition or anything between the two, but I find...

As far as I can read, many downloaded for nothing, and the average payment was only a £ or so, but the band have still ended up with far more money from the release than would have happened from a conventially industry release. Also I read yesterday, that UK retailers are pressing for non DRM downlo...

Only fly in the ointment IIRC would be the need for a negative HT supply for the sink.
Maybe a couple of pp3's to bias the grid?

Hi-thinking about this,have i really got triode mode ?
I think you have something very very odd. One will be in triode, but the other will have its g2 driven out of phase from its anode.

Just be aware that not all CCS's are equal, and the simple high current ones, may not be that perfect in terms of frequency and phase response.

The LM types are adding a lot of additional circuitry that a c4s doesn't have.

Steve: At 70v I would have thought you were in the range of a pentode CCS?

Yes, I assumed it was to reduce the current through the pot, and to provide a path if the wiper became disconnected as it turned (if you know what I mean).

I think (IMHO) that there was a good demonstration of the effect of WKZ's at Steves a couple of weeks ago. I don't think Scott was sure about the difference untill I swapped it back again.

Colin,

I built a pair of frugal horms with 126's, its not that hard. I think you could make up for a lot of woodworking errors using a epoxy filler.

Mo has them at the moment, he seems to like them

It seems to me John, your real comment was that the E range was 6.3v and 12.6v, AFAIK, thats only true for a small range of valves (3 I think). A am happy to be wrong about things, thats the way I learn, but I still havent seen which part of my post you found is not "strictly correct", unl...

What Nick says is not strictly correct Which bit? Very often valves like the ECC** ranges would used in series chains, where nothing else was suitable/available, as their heaters could be either 6.3V 300mA where both sections were in parallel or 12.6 V 150mA where both were in series and a compensa...
