Thanks Phil.

The heaters are AC but it's gonna be easier to insert one resistor in parallel.

I think my self-imposed exile is coming to an end; the other commitments I've had on my plate are coming to an end and browsing around this place whets the appetite.

Basic Question

After a bit of a lay-off from DIY hifi I thought I ought to get my part-finished DAC finished off. The DAC consists of a RAKK DAC module coupled to a pair of Welborne Lab DTO DAC output stage modules (based on their CATO linestage), Links here; http://www.kandkaudio.com/digitalaudio.html http://welb...

If you want 192KHz data the product below looks interesting and is now on my shortlist of streamers to replace my squeezebox - anyone any experience of this product or others from this brand?

Sorry to post a little after the event but it might be worth checking out the new Cambridge Audio Sonata NP30. It's around £400 from Richer Sounds. Will handle 24bit at upto 96KHz and also has digital outputs at the same spec. It works with UPnP so won't work with your squeezebox library but it shou...

Clearout Items

At the moment I'm in one of those occasional lulls regarding DIY hifi activities but I am having a bit of a clearout of the garage and have these lisitings on ebay; http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stepped-Attenuator-Balanced-Elma-Switch-10K-Takman-Metal-Film-/290632341989?pt=UK_AudioTVElectronics_HomeAudi...

OK, maybe I priced it a little high when you can get gainclones so cheap on e-bay so how does £60ono sound?

Gainclone kit - price reduced

Hello chaps, I've been having a bit of a holiday from DIY HiFi for a few months so haven't been around. I really enjoyed the meeting towards the end of 2010 and would love to come and meet up again but, unfortunately, I've got other things arranged.

Reference Material

I came across a reference to this site on the Transcendent Sound forum - thought some might find it interesting/useful?

That's the view from your front door? Blimey  Yep, for most of the day you've needed a 4WD vehicle to get up the hill, which isn't very steep. Managed to walk to a local supermarket this afternoon for a few victuals; doesn't this sort of weather create a different atmosphere - firstly there'...

Having avoided the worst of the previous lot Taunton has all but ground to a standstill this mornng - I reckon we've had 10-15cms of snow in around 3hrs. Here are a couple of pictures from our front door.

Would love to go up on the hills but I don't have a 4WD.
