Bass options being considered but the Onken/Jensen keeps looking pretty good : http://www.supravox.fr/kits/jensen.pdf Given that each speaker will need 1 full sheet of 25mm birch ply, I'm not sure I'd ever be able to get them in the car & up to Owston ! Just getting them built and positioned in ...

OK Dave, I'm getting the impression the bass is good quality and doesn't have too much of any typical bass reflex vices then ? I might just build something along the lines of a mini ( micro ) onken for some FE108EZ's for the TV , but the big project would be along the lines of the second link above,...

Those output transformers look really neat - much tidier than Dave Slagle's units :D

Nick told me he was very pleased with the sound - a tough call between that and his 211 amp from what he said .

Yes, Ok, I see, they are a much bigger back-horn design , thanks.
Do you have any idea how large a design like that would be for Supravox 285GMF !!
:o

Ok
Now, I don't know anything about the Subaro's, do they use the same driver ? ( I suppose they may be another Planet 10 design, I will now have a look ) .
I wouldn't be all that interested in that particular driver, but I'm interested in the cabinet design .

So Dave .., How do they sound ? Anything good/bad/odd about them you can say ? Don't be shy :? It's just that I'm considering either a conventional BR or an Onken for a much bigger job ( Supravox 285GMF ) that will be about 180 litres , and I'm intrigued to see Planet 10 promoting this design curren...

I don't think most of us have the space or funds to run a cyclotron .

I seem to remember the alternate versions of 'Beatle Bones..' and 'On Tomorrow' on there are truly excellent . I must put that CD in the car. On Tomorrow is one of my very favourite Beefheart Tracks. Now what were the others ... Petrified Forest Pachuco Cadaver My human gets me blues Steal softly th...

Those who are not in the know need to read 'Future plans for 300B XLS amp' and Thorsten Loesch's blurb about the 'Legacy' EL84-300B amp ( Google) . Phil, the OA2 is the most ideal for holding the screen at 150 since it's a little smaller ( 7-pin ) and runs well at around 15mA , but you'll be fine wi...

Thanks for the Coltrane link Nick . Restores my faith in humanity , and reminds me of the time I spent grappling with Artie Shaw's jazz clarinet concerto with an over-ambitious music teacher .

I think Jono Noble had a couple of Ba 's in an amp he brought to Eggborough 3/4 years ago . I know he's tried a few of the old Seimens/Valvo small DHTs .
