Re: what are you doing ?
I think it’s completely believable. I have a friend who does just that sort of thing. In the past he has nearly sliced all his fingers off one hand whilst checking the lawnmower blades are spinning properly, burnt his figures whilst checking to see how hot a recently expired magnesium fuse was, fro...

Re: General health matters.
Hi Phil. I use a stevia based product called Truvia. Seems OK and natural from the stevia plant. Comes in powder or pill form. One pill to replace each teaspoon of sugar. I tried xylitol which is the closest to real sugar in taste IMO, but I ended up legging it to the bog 15 minutes after every cup ...

Re: Speaker help required...
Thanks DSJR. The model is the 'TDL Studio 1' but the pre-metal cone version. So NOT the '1M' but the '1'. The driver is labelled 'TDL 6DC 365'. That Monacor doesn't seem a match at all. I have looked at the T/S parameters and the Q values are nowhere near, so they are not "as close to the speci...

Re: Speaker help required...
I was definitely going to replace them as a pair and not leave one original in. I think what I will do is sit on them and wait and see if any drive units come up on eBay for them. The speakers are too good to throw away or "ruin" by putting incorrect parts in. Repair is another option Stev...

What are the more critical parameters when looking to find a replacement driver for a pair of speakers? The voice coil has gone in one of my loudspeaker's woofers and they are TDL units but unobtainium. I have all of the physical and TS parameters of the original, but trying to find one that has ALL...

Re: Digital.
Quality of both is excellent. Qobuz has the 24/192 FLAC and Tidal has the MQA system which my BlueSound DAC supports. I tend to use Tidal all the time to be honest, but having both is good (Qobuz was bought for me) as there are a few titles that are not available on one and are on the other and vice...

Re: yet another boring one trick pony turntable build
You've done an amazing job on that TT Ant. Well done. I may be wanting my G88 doing sometime in the near future and I love what you've done with this one. As an aside, I used to run a large Gray arm with a 103 in it. Worked really well and sounded fab. Sold it a while ago though, unfortunately. Migh...

Re: Dental matters.
My wife is a dentist so we have a water flosser as we got it cheap. It's OK, but IMHO no substitute for either traditional floss or Te-Pe sticks. Ours is currently languishing at the back of the cupboard and never gets used, but we get through lots of floss. Make of that what you will. YMMV.
