Re: General Raspberry Pi stuff

I have preordered as well. Toms Hardware review indicates you can use the Rpi4 psu but the power will be limited on the USB ports Yep. However I think that they missed a trick on that one. If a normal PD PSU could be used, the options for powering them neatly would be far greater, especially with t...

Re: General Raspberry Pi stuff

Rpi 5 now available for pre-order at the PiHut… Beat me to it. I have an 8GB one on pre-order with the new 5A PSU. That's a chunky monkey.. Got the fan & case ordered as well - fully functional Unix beast for £109 delivered. TBH, I'm not entirely sure why I've ordered it as I already have an un...

Given the size of Americans these days, most of them wouldn’t fit in a Mini anyway.
A sample of them might... maybe a bingo wing or two... nobody mentioned integers...

Re: what are you doing ?

Good stuff. Many years ago I saw a talk that Mike Stroud did about the 1982 sled-walk they did across Antarctica. That was fascinating. Stroud is one of his best mates and got a lot of coverage during the evening. He's one of the world's authorities on starvation and it's effects on the human body ...

Re: what are you doing ?

Went to a talk by Ranulph Fiennes last night. Fascinating to listen to the Great Man himself. Mad as a box of frogs. Don't make them like that any more etc. etc. 79 years old, spoke for nearly 2 hours with a dry wit. Walks a bit carefully, but then I remembered that he'd had to cut some of his own t...

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

No, not really, progression takes commitment and time, there are no (ethical) short cuts. You are assuming that they are doing it for the same reason as you. They may just enjoy the nice kit and streachy clothing. If that were the case they needn't have paid a non-trivial entry fee for a competitiv...

Email I got. Will let you bike types decide if its of interest: I hope you are well. I am getting in touch as I have found audio-talk.co.uk and was interested in a number of articles you have recently produced around cycling and bike maintenance. I’m currently working with an E Bike specialist in t...

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.

Not as simple as MPG (or KPL for us modern types). ICEs produce different levels of exhaust gasses depending on a whole bunch of things and it's these gasses we're concerned by. Running at a lower speed may possible change lots of things, maybe for the better, maybe not.

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.

The problem with the lesser of two evils idea is its true for any two values, a = 3, b = 2. b is less than a. a = 3, b = 0, b is still less than a, but in this case also zero. "lesser of two evils" suggests that neither are perfect, but that assumes that the idea of a perfect government (...
