Re: what are you doing ?

Whatever Andrew, yes, I agree the history of VW and Porsche and their, to this day strange connection is a subject of much interest. But the original question was (on another topic):
I saw a survey where Americans were asked "what is the most British car of all time".

Re: what are you doing ?

None of which (interesting though it is) alters the fact that the car (not its designer) is the subject.

Re: Interesting (non musical) YouTube videos.

Let me know when you find a human activity that can't be resolved down to "the sheer awful pointlessness and stupidity", its just doing pointless stuff with some degree of excess and a modicum of style. No different to any visual art, or music, still pointless.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Maybe given the question, the e type, but I think Mini is as good an answer as any. Ticked all the same boxes as the VM Beetle as a post war peoples car, with just less competent management behind it.

Re: MagLev Turntable

The current state of the direct drive turntable I have been working on for the last 10 or so years uses magnets to reduce the load on the bearings.

I just mused that I hoped you didn't use fingerprint auth on your phone. Just though it could have been a problem :-)

Yep, hope it's as quick to recover as it was to happen.

Just thought. What security did you have on your phone?

On the health front all of us here have cv19 atm. Think it's over the worst. Had avoided it till now.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

No, not really, progression takes commitment and time, there are no (ethical) short cuts.
You are assuming that they are doing it for the same reason as you. They may just enjoy the nice kit and streachy clothing.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

But that wasn't really my point, it was more about the thinking that buying an expensive bike will replace putting the work in. Ahh that good old puritan work ethic again :-) Based on my own experience I know that exercise, along with a decent diet, burns off fat That doesn't actually argue against...

One bar is a column of water 33ft high
Or for those of us who are not Victorian physicists 1 bar = 14.5 psi

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.

The road through Hebden Bridge has been 20mph for many years. The state of the tarmac is such that you would not want to drive any faster. Don't know if there is any connection between those two facts.

Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.

Email I got. Will let you bike types decide if its of interest: I hope you are well. I am getting in touch as I have found audio-talk.co.uk and was interested in a number of articles you have recently produced around cycling and bike maintenance. I’m currently working with an E Bike specialist in th...
