Re: 401 bearing issues
That may be the case, but IMO humor != passive aggression

Re: 401 bearing issues
If that was your point, why didn't you just post that instead of something far more vague and passive aggressive?Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 10:06 am I think you both miss the point.
It will take of lot of convincing that differing lubricants used in bearings are audible or in any way offer an advantage .

Re: 401 bearing issues
Not sure why it would require convincing or not, try it and if it makes a difference to you then it does, if it doesn't it doesn't. No one has died in any part of it. But its not a matter of convincing that viscosity is a real thing as is the other aspects of oil behavior and bearing friction.

Re: 401 bearing issues
Seems fine. Max can post to a thread about oil (like this one), and you can post to one about your gait (not this one).Daniel Quinn wrote: ↑Thu Jun 08, 2023 8:20 am Max , you worry about motor oil viscosity and I'll worry about my gait![]()

Re: NFB capacitor
Yep, the actual value of the feedback resistor doesn't set the feedback level, its the ratio of the PD that its a part of.

Yep, it seems to be another thing that's more often left unsaid. I may well be wrong but its what I think is going on.

Re: NFB capacitor
Ok, so if you consider the two transistors in the LTP. The current through those two transistors will be controlled by the current into each of the bases. So if we assume that the input is at 0v, and the output is also at 0v. The base of each NPN transistor will have to be below 0v for current to fl...

Re: Nothing In Particular
A line will lull you into a false sense of accuracy. The line will never be related to where the cantilever and stylus is which is th eonly datum that will actually matter.
That's my view anyway...

Re: NFB capacitor
I would guess in the absence of of a cap on the input the resistance looking into the pot from the LTP base is whats causing the change. What I would suggest trying is a resistor to ground on the front of the amp so the resistance to ground on the +ve LPT base is the same as the resistance seen to t...

Re: NFB capacitor
BTW, the ones I found are only 22uf 50v, I use 100uf 50v for my amps, but the ones I will send should be ok to try.

Re: NFB capacitor
Just though, if you have changed the feedback resistor I would argue that you should also change the resistor to ground for the input side of the LTP as well to match, so they are both seeing the same DC conditions to ground (or virtual ground in the case of the feedback side) on their bases. But al...

If you are interested I think I have some of the bipolar caps I use. I can put four of them in the post to you if you want to give them a try.

Re: Anyone here understand tuning PID controllers?
Yep, it talks about setting the cycle time to 20 seconds with a relay output to protect the contacts, I think the same will apply to your bulb's (and state of mind).

Re: Anyone here understand tuning PID controllers?
Looking at the manual online, looks like setting a longer "Control Cycle Time" might slow the flashing.
