Re: The Audio-Talk Cycling thread.
Email I got. Will let you bike types decide if its of interest: I hope you are well. I am getting in touch as I have found audio-talk.co.uk and was interested in a number of articles you have recently produced around cycling and bike maintenance. I’m currently working with an E Bike specialist in th...

Re: Valve amplifier service
Because the feedback will not be related to whats going on in the amp, so wont reduce gain as you expect.

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.
I would put my own money on the fact that a F1 engine is not at its most economical at 55mph, or 70mph, or anything like that. I thought we were talking about cars on the public highway ? :? We were, but I suggested it was a design choice. I used that as an example of a different set of choices. If...

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.
A gearbox ? Think, you have a engine that is running at a given fuel and air ratio producing a given car speed (say 20mph). If the car can run at 30mph with no additional change of inputs, why would it run at 20mph rather than 30mph? Consider a ball sitting on a perfectly flat surface, with no fric...

Re: Valve amplifier service
You will need to disconnect the existing s1-l -> s2-l and s1-r -> s2-r so its s1-l -> s2-r and s1-r -> s2-l And also swap the feedback over as well, I forgot about that.

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.
Not as simple as MPG (or KPL for us modern types). ICEs produce different levels of exhaust gasses depending on a whole bunch of things and it's these gasses we're concerned by. Running at a lower speed may possible change lots of things, maybe for the better, maybe not. And pollution from brakes a...

Re: Valve amplifier service
Adding the cap didn't seem to make any difference. I didn't suggest the cap would make a difference, I was just trying to protect your scope when probing around 300v with the input set to DC. As soon as I put a probe on the top side of C4 (or either side of the gridstopper I put on V2B grid) the hu...

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.
but I have no means to prove that. Then you have no reason to believe what you believe. If you look at a typical engine map https://motorsport-electronics.co.uk/onlinehelp/html/lib/ME221%20Software%20Tuning%20Manual_filesimage021.gif You can see for a given RPM, the VE (which is related directly to...

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.
You are just asserting "the engine may use the same amount of fuel" you need to show that's true.

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.
Drag increases with the square of speed, but I doubt that matters much between 20 and 30mph for most cars.within reason

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.
I had a speed awareness course many years ago, and I still remember how much shorter stopping distances are at 30mph.(let alone 20mph) While I sympathize, one could say, you should have known that to have a license in the first place. But I do have to admit, it was only in an awareness course that ...

If Labour win, they will do their best, get the place back to some semblance of sanity, then the Tories will get back in a burn it all down again. We must not have anymore Tory ridiculousness or we are doomed.
Rinse, repeat

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.
I admit it is whataboutism, but if you remove the well-intentioned, it perfectly describes the current government. He also had people around him who, whilst maybe well-intentioned, were completely out of their depth/useless.
