Well I dunno – I pulled the gear clusters. and the bearing is perfect. So play had to be the shaft in the inner race. (?)

So, all bearings and seals were recently new - interestingly two bearings I can see writing on say 'Made in England'.

Alrighty then! Still need to get crankshaft rebuilt if ...

Ball races really not bad, if used, but will look at possible replacements. The gearbox output seal is brand new, altho that would have been quite easy to ...

Then I got sidetracked by the clutch. Several new bits needed, clutch plates (original cork nearly down to the metal, plain plates rusty where cork linings had been left 'parked ...

However, the iPhone XS does seem to have been particularly badly affected by Ghost Touch; later models not so much, so you should be OK Mike.
