Re: SV811-3

Well, the triple-decker frame is built: a copy of Izzy’s GM70 pp chassis building technique.
Might actually get something done now.

I’d better get a move on with the SV811-3 SET.

The bus station is just a car park since the interchange was built 20? years ago, and the ABC has been empty for decades. That's, er, progress.
Indeed!

Re: Nothing In Particular

There was a tailor on Rotherham Market who used to do Northern soul fashions made to measure. The trousers on my particular suit had 34in bottoms. With white socks, cherry, leather soled brogues, single vented three button jacket and light blue Fred Perry T shirt I certainly looked the biz. I want ...

Is Mr. Cresswell (Snr) in the house? https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-66867519 50 years since the first all-nighter at Wigan Casino. Gawd, that’s a lifetime ago. I never went to Wigan. Samantha’s in Sheffield with John Vincent DJ’ing was our go to place for Northern Soul during the mid...

Re: SV811-3

I found his schematic for the raw Coleman DC supply and it happens that I have the right parts, so I guess I’ll build a copy, using my 9V 300VA twin secondary toroid as the AC source.

Re: SV811-3

1. Whats the max voltage the regulator can accept without damage? I would worry about that with something that has choke input aspects 2. Why are you beating yourself up with the supply for a regulator? isn't that why you are using a regulator? 3. Whats wrong with a 9v 80va toroid, 25A bridge and 1...

Re: SV811-3

Been doing a little bit of work in PSUD, designing a raw DC supply for the Coleman regs. I had a look at Ale Moglia's Bartola Valves site and got a little bit of useful inspiration there. The result of that and a bit of thinking on my part, using the parts I have is the hybrid choke input 4A supply ...

I'd like to come along for the day on Saturday. Unless there are any requests, I'm not likely to bring any kit. My level of inactivity means there is nothing new from me for a long time. :( It will be good to meet up with old friends and see what everyone has been up to. :D I may have the SV811-3 b...

Re: SV811-3

Well, I do have two 9V 75VA transformers. I'm not sure if they're split bobbin as Rod would recommend but you're welcome to try them to see if you can hear any difference to the toroid. I'll have a think about that Simon. I may attempt to get it going with the SMPS supplies, then I can sub in a the...
