Re: Op amp swapping.
At times, some of us have swapped op amps in equipment (e-bay DACs spring to mind) to good effect. Has anyone tried HDAM op amp replacements ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/221490276787?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 I have used a similar one in a headphone amp, can't remember t...

I built a vortexbox from a low spec computer you just download and install the software from vortexbox.org the info is on there site. Even a fairly old low spec computer will do the job but i used a atom based one only cost about £110 plus a hard drive mine has a 1Terrabite but it could probably be ...

I have a pair these somewhere used to use them as rear surround speakers, I've often seen them used in pubs for background speaker which they're good for as you can get dedicated wall mount brackets, I also let my daughter use them with a cheepo cd system when she was a teenager they made it sound f...

PS 2000v only when the lights are on I presume. I'm not sure if they run at 2000v or just when starting up, when I research them on the net I found people who claimed to change them every 3 years to keep them at the brightest but i don't see why mine are 7 years old now and still light the road up ...

My car came as standard with Xenon headlight and has self levelling headlights, recently one of my headlights stopped working and I read that both bulbs should be changed at the same time as they get dimmer with age but when I went to have one fitted they were quoted at £95 each  but it turne...

Thanks Andrew but for the time being I'm liking the way its rigged up all the heaters running off one transformer and one voltage reg at 12v, I've tried a pair of 6h30pi which draw 900ma in place of the 6H6n and its still running cool to the touch so it looks like this Broskie regulator will do what...

No I don't have a meat thermometer, I did toy with the the idea of using a large piece of aluminium angle to see if that would cool it enough. The Broskie regulator has a larger heatsink on it and it still got too hot for my liking with the excess voltage but barely gets warm now I've got it down to...
