Re: Nothing In Particular

I've lived in Shrewsbury since 2007. For me the jewels are the sunken flower garden with lake called the Dingle in a beautiful park known as the Quarry and the Old Market Hall with it's café area and cosy cinema seating 80 or so. Glass of wine with your film is a treat. Shropshire Music Services use...

Great venue and lots of nice folk inc that Mr Gorham, Colin and another fella I'm trying to recall the name of - Andrew? I enjoyed the Funk Firm room too next door - well I am a PT fan. I enjoyed the diminuitive 3 Square Audio Ayal loudspeakers powered by NVA amps (bi-amped). Speakers have first ord...

Re: Smart Phones.

If you own any Apple gear like a MacBook you could buy an older Iphone like the SE. I have the Mk1. It's fast and has a good camera. Probably unavailable now - there is a mk 2 and 3 I believe. I like a phone small enough to fit in my pocket.

Re: Where Did You Start?

My first amplifier was a Texan 20wpc kit that I built as a teen. The channel that worked sounded wonderful. I was unable to get it fully working and didn't know anyone who could help at the time. Next amp was the Nad 3020. I had a lovely pair of AR7s but stupidly traded them in for a pair of fancy l...

I went to a café with table service for breakfast the other day. ‘I’ll have the full English, please’. Note I didn’t say, ‘Can I get the full English’. A question posed as a statement so courtesy isn’t required. Waitress’ response, ‘That’s amazing! Awesome! Battling grumpy old man syndrome g...

Few bikers on here, travel fans and no doubt food lovers. I really enjoyed this https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m001byk3 Hairy Bikers on BBC Food Programme talking about their lives and careers and of course travels. I was lucky enough to see them once filming in Shrewsbury. They were a lot of fun.

Spot on Andrew. There's one current 'thing' that's got me worried that there's an Invasion of the Body Snatchers in process. At work ( particularly ) people keep sending emails around that say : "see the below diagram" "see the below email" "see the below part drawing"...

I'm buying an electrically heated throw for my wife and we're limiting ch use by heating one room with the log burner. Just feeling fortunate that we can opt to use the ch when it gets colder unlike many for whom a warm home has become unaffordable.
