Ah yes, but…. I used to often get a belt off Dad’s old Morris 1100, but only when I got out and turned round to close the door. Mine ran out after two years. The bloke who replaced the meter said that wasn’t unusual. He also said that it’s perfectly possible to replace the battery, but they’re not allowed to. The only reason he could think of as to why not was to increase profits for the meter manufacturers.

My six year old grandson asked me to take him to see Concorde 002 at the Fleet Air Arm museum. It occurred to me that Concorde is more archaic to him than this was when I was six. Time flies. Sadly, Concorde and Heracles don’t.
